I’m relatively new to Leeds, and have been living here since 2010. I work at the University of Leeds as a ‘Knowledge Transfer Project Officer’, which means I try to create new partnerships and collaborations between organisations and communities in Leeds with the University of Leeds, with a specific remit in the Faculty of Arts, which covers the areas of English, Modern Languages, History and Humanities.

I’m interested in ensuring the University of Leeds is fully embedded in its local area, and that the local community are able to see all that the University has to offer.

I have developed contacts with a variety of organisations across Leeds since being in post. I’ve previously worked at the Economic and Social Research Council, which is a higher education funding body, so I have some knowledge on applying for funding to organisations such as research councils and similar. I studied International Development Studies for my BA at the University of Manchester.

Every year I take part in National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November and involves writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I’ve done it for the past 7 years, and I’ve completed a novel 6 times.
